  23. Use the skip DirectX2 install option if you know you
  24. already have DirectX2 installed and have since loaded
  25. newer drivers for e.g. Matrox graphics card, as
  26. re-installing DirectX2 will overwrite these drivers and
  27. they will have to be re-installed.

  29. SWIV makes use of the DirectX drivers for Windows95 
  30. from Microsoft. However as this is relatively new 
  31. technology drivers may not exist or be 100% compatible 
  32. on your machine. If you experience problems we suggest 
  33. you contact your hardware manufacturer who may have 
  34. updated drivers or use the DOS version.

  39. On a Windows95 machine, using the DOS version in a DOS
  40. box can result in up to approx. 8% increase in 
  41. performance dependent on your exact machine
  42. configuration.

  44. Even though Windows95 can have multiple tasks running,
  45. more resources are used - to get the best performance
  46. from SWIV exit as many programs as possible, before
  47. running the game.

  52. Note that on certain levels there are only limited jump
  53. boosts available - use them with care to ensure you can
  54. reach your target.
